On the beginning of political activity of Seif al-Islam in Libya became known in mid-October.

Safed al-Islam, 44, the eldest son of Muammar Gaddafi from his second marriage, was considered by his father as a probable successor. He is an architect and engineer by training, studied in Austria and the UK.

He graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he was awarded a Ph.D.. He headed an international charity fund named after his father.

Muammar Gaddafi, who ruled the country since 1969, was captured and killed by rebels in October 2011.
