This program provides for the construction of four ships of the project 58250 type "Vladimir the Great". The relevant resolution No. 879 was adopted on November 22.

According to the document, the cost of construction of ships will be almost 32 billion hryvnia. At the same time in 2018 the Cabinet intends to allocate more than 1.4 billion hryvnia for the first corvette. Transfer to the Armed Sea Forces is planned in 2022.

The second ship of the series will be built in 2018 and transferred to the Ukrainian Navy in 2024. The third and fourth corvettes will be ready in 2026 and 2028. The total cost of completion of the main ship "Vladimir the Great" is estimated at more than 3.6 billion hryvnia.

The program also provides for the purchase of ship ammunition, including anti-ship missiles. The government intends to spend UAH 3.5 billion on this.

The ships of Project 58250, though called corvette, are closer to frigates in terms of characteristics. The planned displacement is 2650 tons, the length is 112 meters, the width is 13.5 meters, the draft is 5.6 meters. The crew will be 110 people, the autonomy of sailing - 30 days.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, in early September, the commander of the Naval Forces of Ukraine Vice Admiral Igor Voronchenko named the main tasks of the Ukrainian fleet until 2020.
