We didn’t suffer a single defeat: the Ukrainian women’s team won the “gold” of the Chess Olympiad for the second time in history

At the previous 2018 Olympics, Ukrainians took second place, losing only to the Chinese team.. Ukrainians approached the Chess Olympiad-2022 in the status of the second number in the rating. The leaders of the women's ranking were chess players from India.

The competition consisted of 11 rounds, in which 162 teams participated..

Ukraine approached the final 11th round without losing a single confrontation. In the last round, Ukraine had to play with Poland - another contender for victory in the Chess Olympiad. Ukraine won two out of four games against Poland. Maria Muzychuk defeated Alina Kashlinskaya: on the 35th move, the polka refused to continue the game. In the final game, Ushenina put the squeeze on the Polish chess player Olivia Kelbasa and brought the team a second victory. Two more games in the confrontation between Ukraine and Poland were drawn. Thanks to this, Ukraine defeated Poland in a confrontation with a score of 3:1.

As a result, Ukraine finished the tournament undefeated:

seven wins and four draws.. The blue-yellows have 18 points. Georgia has the same amount, but they lost to Ukrainian women in an additional indicator.

This is the second " The Ukrainians won their first victory back in 2006, and then Ushenina was in the team. In general, this is the fourth title of Ukraine at the Chess Olympiad: in 2004 and 2010, men received gold;

At the Men's Chess Olympiad, Ukraine took the final 31st place, scoring 14 points after 11 rounds.
