New asshole. A man applied for a vacancy at a children's camp in Vilnius. They started talking to him in Russian. She asked to switch to Ukrainian. After this request, the Ukrainian woman was DISCRIMINATED on the basis of language for UKRAINIAN! language and DENIED employment.
Look what's the matter. There have already been a lot of arguments on this topic and it seems to me that we need to exhale a little and start from the very foundation.
In my opinion, the foundation here is as follows: all the fights begin after a request to switch to Ukrainian and further castigation of the one who is asked to switch to Ukrainian. And I understand the first impulse of rejection of those who refuse: because who are you that you will tell me what language to speak
And this is absolutely adequate rejection if you are asked to switch to Ukrainian by your neighbor in the elevator, by some guy in the parking lot, or by a person choosing carrots from the same box in the supermarket with you.. Because the legislation of Ukraine absolutely clearly allows the use of any language in everyday life, including Russian.
But it's a completely different matter when you're running a business.. If so, you need to provide services at the client's request in Ukrainian. The same applies to any other business activity, including recruiting.
And in this case, Russian speakers simply need to accept that some people will demand to switch to Ukrainian. This is not a manifestation of your humiliation or some kind of disdain for you or your Russian culture, but a requirement of the law. Ukrainians have every moral and legal right to demand communication in Ukrainian in business conducted in Ukraine. Including at the stage of hiring personnel.
If people comply with the laws of Ukraine and do not be offended by the legitimate demands of other people, there will simply be no foundation for squabbles. Because there is NO point to argue about - we follow the law and everyone is happy. No, and apart from the language slaughter, I draw attention to the boorish response of the employee of the Vilni camp. Here is the full set of abusers: gaslighting, devaluation, humiliating evaluation that no one asked for. And, as a mockery, after all this a wish of good evening and a smiley face.
And I have a question: what will they teach children in a camp where they can’t even teach their own employees to be human
Also a question for Denis Ulyutin. Mr.
Denis, doesn’t it bother you that in Ukraine Ukrainian women are discriminated against on the basis of language for speaking the UKRAINIAN language In Poland, for example, if God forbid there had been a case where a Ukrainian refused a Pole because he asked to speak Polish, then the borders would have already been closed and the whole country would have been on edge. And here the Russians refuse the Ukrainians because they speak their native language, and no one gives a damn.
Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, respond to violations of the law immediately! I think it is in our common interest if you keep the public informed about the progress of events. Ukrainians should not be discriminated against in their own state!
