The US can participate in the Paris Climate Agreement only on special terms

Izvestia reports that US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that the US will remain in the Paris climate agreement if the country receives special conditions.

He added that while the US side is ready to be an effective and useful party to the treaty.



In an interview with CBS, Tillerson stressed that President Donald Trump is open to creating certain conditions that "must be fairly balanced for Americans" and "under which the US can remain in agreement with other countries".

The newspaper earlier reported that the media reported that the United States had changed its mind about withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement.

However, these reports have refuted in the White House, while it added that the US administration will try to adjust the terms of its participation and to change them more favorable to themselves.
