The European Union has already started working on a seventh round of sanctions against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.. This was announced by Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Pavel Yablonsky in an interview with PAP..

When asked if work had already begun on a new package of sanctions, Yablonsky answered in the affirmative..

" Sanctions should be even tougher - in the context of the gas that Russia can still sell, in the context of disconnecting all Russian banks from the SWIFT system. I am talking mainly about Gazprombank, which is used by Russia in industry,” said the Deputy Foreign Minister.

When asked about the effectiveness of the imposed sanctions, Yablonsky replied that “Putin still has resources and he can still spend money on the army and replenish his resources at the front.”.

He added that in addition to formal sanctions, it is necessary to confiscate, and not just freeze, Russian assets in Europe..

“Work on this issue is already underway,” Yablonsky said..

He also believes that it is necessary to impose an embargo on technologies that the Russian Federation can supply and use in its own industry..
