"Attention, the Faction of the European People's Party in PACE has just decided to exclude Pedro Agramunt from his team," Yemets said..

According to him, no member of the group voted against the removal of Agramunt.

"The Assembly did not know this shame so that the PACE president was expelled from the group that recommended him to this post. This is the result of cooperation with Russia, "wrote a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the Assembly.

As reported by the "Observer", former President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Pedro Agramunt was suspended from performing duties of conducting the session after the scandal because of his visit to Syria together with the deputies of the Russian State Duma. At the same time, Agramunt said that he does not intend to resign.

Now the position of the PACE president is the quota of the group of the European People's Party, from which, in fact, Agramunt. For each group, the quota is retained for two years, and then transferred to the next group.

The President of the Assembly is elected for a period of one year with the possibility of re-election for one more term, which was the case with Agramunt, when on January 23 his term was extended to the end of January 2018.
