The president of Russia, being recently in the annexed Crimea, "flashed" with a new idea. He proposed to turn Sevastopol into a "Russian Mecca".

The Russian president chose the image not the most successful, I'm sure the well-known Russian journalist Alexander Nevzorov.

In an interview with Ekho Moskvy, he reminded Putin that the Mecca has long been not the most favorable symbol. So, it is associated with a crowd of religious fanatics, pressing and trampling each other.

"There, if they take hostages in a mosque, they take 5 thousand at once and kill several hundred at the time of liberation. And the Arabs themselves were then unable to release these hostages (there some radical Islamic group captured), and for the first time in the history of Mecca's existence, the feet of the infidels, that is, the French special forces who poured right and left, entered the country I remember, it was generally the only case when Muslims were admitted to Mecca, "Nevzorov said..

He stressed that today's Mecca is chaos, religious frenzy and intolerance.
