The length of the fence will be almost 45 kilometers. Construction will cost 1.3 million euros. According to the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania, the contract for the construction of the fence has already been signed with the contractor. It will come into force already this week.

According to the plan, the barrier must be erected by December of this year. At the same time, all construction work will be carried out from the state budget.

The department also told that on the land border with the Kaliningrad region will be erected a wire fence with a height of two meters with additional electronic control.

The barrage will appear at the convergence of the borders of Lithuania, Poland and Russia near Lake Vishtitis and will extend through the territory of the Sakiai and Vilkaviskes regions to the Neman, - noted in the border department.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the completion of the construction of "Wall" is planned to shift from 2017 to 2020. According to the State Frontier Service of Ukraine, the engineering structure on the Russian border has already been fulfilled by 10.5%.
