The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine did not deal with the procedure for depriving Ukrainian citizenship of the non-factional People's Deputy Andrei Artemenko, the deputy head of the Citizenship Department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Irina Protsyk, stated in a comment to GORDON. "We were not the initiators of the deprivation of the citizenship of Artemenko. The same applies to Borovik (former deputy chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration Sasha Borovik. - "GORDON"). We did not prepare any documents, as they did not participate in this procedure. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs deals with issues related to citizens who have issued permanent residence in another country, "said Protsyk. According to her, data on citizenship are not disclosed by any country in the world. "No country disclose information about the citizenship of a person. The same personal data. We, in turn, also do not provide this information to anyone.. Moreover, tracing of foreign citizenship is not within the competence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We deal with the issue of citizenship only those individuals who permanently reside abroad, "she said.. She stressed that there is no penalty for dual citizenship in Ukraine. "To check if a person has a second or third passport, you can in the event that he committed any offense. Then the Prosecutor General's Office can send an appropriate request.

And so the function of control over foreign citizenship is not fixed by any state structure. For example, if a citizen of Ukraine leaves the European Union for a European passport, the document can be seen by border guards. In general, of course, we guess that citizens of Ukraine can have passports of other countries. But for this even a fine is not provided for. According to the law, for us this person still remains a citizen of Ukraine, even if he has 15 foreign passports, "concluded Protsyk.
