Russian troops are making several redeployments in an attempt to meet Putin's goal of capturing the Donbas by September 15. This is a new deadline, the previous one, until August 31, the occupiers failed to reach. It is accompanied by a regrouping of units of the Central Military District operating in the Luhansk-Donetsk directions in order to increase the number of troops west of Donetsk. About this with reference to the statement of the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff Alexei Gromov writes the Institute for War Research.

Gromov clarified that Russian troops deployed two battalion tactical groups (BTG) towards the western front line of the Zaporozhye region. They consist of the military from the Belgorod region, and, according to him, can ensure the resumption of Russian offensive operations in the Donbass.

Gromov said that the Russian military continues to form the 3rd Army Corps for deployment in the Donetsk region, and will also presumably resume offensive operations in the Donetsk operational area.

He also noted that it is not clear whether all the mobilized servicemen of the 3rd Army Corps have undergone military training..

Judging by the words of the official, Russian troops also introduced one BTG to the Slavyansk and Nikolaev directions.

Recordings circulated online also show that Russian troops continue to respond to the Ukrainian counter-offensive in the Kherson region, consistently pushing military columns to the south of Ukraine across the Kerch bridge..

This deployment of Russian troops is likely to set the stage for a review of the operation to capture the Donetsk region, but Russian troops are unlikely to make the progress necessary to capture the region before September 15, the ISW report says..

Recall that the other day, four cities in Donetsk at night came under heavy Russian shelling.
