Russia has a shortage of more accurate modern weapons, so it uses air-launched anti-ship missiles for ground attacks, says the British Ministry of Defense.

According to British intelligence, Russian troops continue to make a slight advance in the vicinity of Lysichansk, inflicting air and artillery strikes.. Apparently, Ukrainian defenders continue to block Russian forces on the southeastern outskirts of the city.

“Russia continues to use air-launched anti-ship missiles for ground attacks, probably due to the reduction in stocks of more accurate modern weapons,” the British Ministry of Defense notes..

“Analysis of CCTV footage shows that the missile that hit the shopping center in Kremenchuk on June 27, 2022 was presumably Kh-32. This is a modernized version of the Soviet-era Kh-22 missile,” writes British intelligence..

It is reported that subsequent strikes on June 30 in the Odessa region were likely carried out by Kh-22 missiles. These weapons are even less advanced and unsuitable for high-precision strikes, which is why they have repeatedly caused civilian casualties in recent weeks..
