After the end of the war and a certain period of adaptation in Ukraine, a boom in the detection of oncological diseases may break out, said Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko.

The minister noted that since 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, early screening of oncological diseases and cardiovascular diseases has not been carried out in Ukraine..

“The situation is the same during the war.. This will lead to the fact that in 5-7 years we will also have a boom in oncological, certain infectious and cardiovascular diseases.. And this is both tuberculosis and viral hepatitis,” Lyashko said in an interview with Telegraph..

The key to preventing catastrophe is to end the war.. However, even in such conditions, the Ministry of Health is trying to ensure timely diagnosis..

“Technically, we have all the stages of response to various infectious diseases.

We have improved the laboratory network, expanded the number of diagnostic systems in order to identify the pathogen in time and introduce the necessary anti-epidemic measures.. We are working to ensure that a person does not stay in unacceptable living conditions for a long time,” he added..

It should be noted that the occupying army of the Russian Federation completely destroyed 101 hospitals in Ukraine and damaged or plundered another 600 medical facilities..
