Scientists at the California Institute of Technology have created a bipedal robot that can balance. And all thanks to the fact that scientists have combined two technologies: creating robots and drones..

The robot is called Leonardo (LEgs ONboARD drone) and was inspired by birds that can jump and walk using their wings as a balancer. But instead of wings, Leonardo has two drone propellers, which are placed where other robots have arms..

Scientists have already demonstrated Leo's ability. So, during the tests, he was able not only to walk on a flat surface and fly from one place to another, but to ride a skateboard and walk on a tightrope..

In the future, the researchers intend to improve the technologies that were used in the manufacture of the robot, as well as to make changes in the artificial intelligence, under the control of which it works..

Scientists hope that such robots can be used in the future in the exploration of Mars.
