Aspect ratio of the screen 2: 1 (18: 9), which suddenly took a great interest manufacturers of smartphones, did not cause a violent reaction in the consumer environment. This conclusion was reached by the journalists of GSMArena, having conducted a public opinion poll among their readers.

36% of respondents said they would prefer to use a display with a 16: 9 aspect ratio. The main reason - the appearance of black bars on the sides while watching videos and the reluctance of some developers to adapt their applications to a new screen format.

33% of respondents noted that they see the future behind the thin lines, while flirting with the ratio of the parties, in their opinion, is nothing more than a marketing move. "The 18: 9 format does not make sense," one of the respondents said, "the only thing for which such a format is needed is to create a sense of novelty among consumers".

At the same time, 25% are confident that soon the 18: 9 ratio will become the standard for the industry.

According to the user with the nickname Just Honest, the new format is waiting for a great future, however, for this he has a long way to go, involving both producers and developers.

The remaining 6% stressed that they do not care about disputes about the ideal balance of the parties. All that is important for them at this stage is high performance of the device itself and stable quality display of the picture on the screen regardless of its type and format.
