In a press release on the 36 CES 2018 Innovation Awards awarded to Samsung, along with the SoC Exynos 9810, other interesting innovations are mentioned.

In particular, these are GDDR6 memory chips supporting a data rate of 16 Gbit / s. New memory is designed for "next-generation applications with intensive graphics". In addition to high throughput, the new memory can boast of low power consumption. It operates at a supply voltage of 1.35 V.

Modern graphics memory is usually designed for 1.5 V and supports 8 Gbps.

The award also received a solid-state drive Samsung PM983. This is the first SSD of NGSFF size with NVMe support, characterized by a volume of 8 TB. It is especially well suited for 1U servers, helping to increase the density of the equipment layout of the CC. The dimensions of the drive are 30.5 x 110 x 4.38 mm. An array of 64 such drives provides a phenomenal speed of 0.5 PB / s.
