Employees of the Carpathian Department of the Department of Cyber ??Police together with the Prosecutor's Office conducted a number of operational activities and exposed a 25-year-old man in involvement in the abduction of money from customers at petrol stations.

This was reported in the Department of cyberpolicy NHA.

Law enforcers established that the man worked as a cashier in the trading hall of one of the petrol stations in Lviv. Being in the workplace he, with the help of a skimmer, read the data from the magnetic strips of customers' bank cards and memorized their pin codes.

After that, using plastic cards of loyalty to the network of gas stations and clean plastic cards (the so-called white plastic), with the help of the "encoder", carried out illegal copying of the bank cards of the victims.

Having all the necessary information, the suspect took money from ATMs at ATMs, whose cards he copied. In addition, to these cards, a man tied his mobile phone number, so the victims in most cases did not even know that their bank account was devastated.

The police carried out authorized searches in the petrol station and in the place of residence of the suspect. As a result, the loyalty cards of the network of petrol stations, a sim card of one of the mobile operators, mobile phones and money.

Also, the police in his apartment seized the "skimmer", "encoder", computer equipment, cards used to replace bank cards of users and rough records.

Criminal proceedings were opened on h. 3 items. 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The issue of opening several more criminal proceedings is also being resolved:.

200 (Illegal actions with documents for transfer, payment cards and other means of access to bank accounts, electronic money, equipment for their production), art.. 231 (Illegal collection for the purpose of using or using information constituting a commercial or banking secret) and. 361 (Unauthorized interference in the operation of computers, automated systems, computer networks or telecommunication networks) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
