Sources said that Samsung Electronics from two possible options chose for its first folding smartphone the one in which the screen in the folded state will be protected by the body.
In the second case, if the device is folded in the opposite direction, you should get a smartphone similar to the YotaPhone with displays that are on both panels of the smartphone. But Samsung has chosen a more reliable option, in which the device will open and close on the principle of a laptop.
The same sources add that Samsung intends to achieve a curvature radius of the display of only 3 mm when folded.
Recently, the head of the mobile unit Samsung Koh Dong-jin (Koh Dong-jin) for the first time confirmed that the company is working on a new smartphone with a bendable display, which should be released in the Galaxy Note line next year.
