Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on amendments to the Federal Law "On Information, Information Technologies and Protection of Information" by introducing a ban on access to programs bypass block sites (anonymizer) and VPN-services.

The document is published on the portal of the legal information of the Russian Federation.

Technologies that have been banned are helping to visit sites blocked on the territory of the Russian Federation. Roskomnadzor will now have the opportunity to block sites where information about circumvention of locks is posted. The law requires search operators to block links to information resources included in the list of agencies.

As a protest against the restrictions in Moscow on July 23 held a march "For free Internet".
