Intel has announced Movidius Neural Compute Stick - a compact device in the form-factor "flash drives", which is designed to accelerate the calculations associated with deep learning of neural networks. USB-keychain is designed to reduce the threshold of entry into the development, configuration and deployment of applications of artificial intelligence.

Myriad 2 Vision Processing Unit (VPU) is the "heart" of the device, a low-power processor (consumes only 1 watt), which uses 12 parallel cores to process computer vision algorithms, such as object detection and face detection.

Myriad 2 is optimized for computer vision technology and is used, for example, in the 4th generation dentist Phantom. It is the Movidius processor that is responsible for the "sight" of the drones DJI: thanks to him, Phantom builds a 3D model of the surrounding world, is oriented in space and "sees" obstacles on the way.

Performance Compute Stick, promises the manufacturer, reaches 100 gigaflopsov. The case of the device is made of aluminum. The novelty is for $ 79.
