Last year, Samsung began selling a 16 TB SSD in a 2.5-inch form factor. Of course, the PM1633a focused not on home users, but on the corporate sector and data centers. The price was announced corresponding - about $ 10 thousand. This week, another record capacity of SSD was broken by Viking Technologies, which released storage capacity of 25 and 50 TB.

The SSD uses MLC NAND memory, Serial Attached SCSI (SAS). The price for the super-light SSD is not announced and is unlikely to become public in the near future.

These drives are characterized by low power consumption - 10 watts in standby mode and 16 watts - under load. The speed of reading and writing is 500 and 350 MB / s, respectively, the number of I / O operations per second is 60,000 and 10,000, respectively.
