Research company iResearch believes that the Chinese market of virtual reality devices, content and related services in 2018 will be about one and a half billion dollars, and in 2021 will be estimated at 11.6 billion dollars.
At the same time, sales of VR content, which today account for a small part of the industry, will account for about 50% of the VR market in 2021, that is, $ 5.7 billion.
Even in four years, the main sales engine will be simple models of virtual reality sets, which require a smartphone. At the same time sales of VR cardboard devices will reach a peak in 2019, as all smartphone manufacturers will at that time produce their own headsets for their devices. The devices connected to the PC will also gain popularity.
Some Chinese companies, including Deepoon, Idealens and Pimax Technology, are working on all-in-one solutions that do not require either a smartphone or a PC.
