According to foreign media reports, Intel cuts around 140 employees in its business related to developments in the Internet of Things (IoT).

There was no official announcement from the corporation about this, but in June 2017 it became known that Intel was curtailing the production of compact computer modules and boards Joule, Edison and Galileo, intended for use in IoT. The British edition of The Register believes that dismissals are connected with this.

IoT-business brought Intel 721 million dollars in revenue in January-March 2017, which is 11% more than a year earlier. However, the amount was only 5% of the total sales of the corporation.

According to the Silicon Valley Business Journal, about 100 jobs will be eliminated at Intel headquarters in Santa Clara, California, USA. Also, The Times reports that about 40 more employees will lose their jobs in the Irish branch in Leixlip.

Meanwhile, on the eve of several authoritative publications published articles on the possible personnel cleaning in another American corporation - Microsoft.

Thus, the TechCrunch IT portal received information on the reduction of "thousands" of jobs, most of which are related to sales, and according to Bloomberg, the company will dismiss marketers in different countries, and personnel changes will affect various divisions.

Microsoft itself notified employees about the forthcoming reorganization in the sales and marketing departments, but did not specify whether layoffs are planned in connection with the initiated transformation.
