Authorities in Turkey blocked access to "Wikipedia", the portal of Turkey Blocks, which monitors censorship in Turkey.

According to the information of the portal, the blocking starts on April 29 at 8:00 local time and is valid for all versions of the site in all languages.

Access will be blocked using special filters that are used to censor content within the country. When you try to connect to Wikipedia, the computer gives users a "404 error".

In the rating of press freedom, which was compiled by the international organization Reporters Without Borders, Turkey was on the 155th place. In the rating, the organization calculates the media freedom index based on media diversity, their independence, journalists' working conditions, self-censorship, legal protection and institutional transparency.

On April 16, Turkey held a referendum on constitutional reform. According to the state news agency Anadolu, its supporters with a minimal margin (51.4% versus 48.6%) won. The opposition declared numerous violations during the voting and about the intention to appeal its results in court.

The initiators of the reform propose the introduction of 18 amendments to the basic law, which should significantly expand the powers of the president.

Earlier it was reported that the OSCE believe that the election campaign was distorted in favor of voting "for". The decision of the Electoral Commission of Turkey allows valid ballots without special seals to be valid and created an opportunity for fraud in a referendum on constitutional reform.
