Doctors treat biased patients with bias.

This is proved by an analysis of the records of the dialogues of American doctors with patients who came because of high blood pressure, their number exceeded 200 people. The time allotted by doctors to patients with obesity and normal weight was the same, but the degree of empathy and participation varied several times. The doctors were much kinder and warmer with patients who were in normal weight (with a BMI of less than 25), and they talked to the fat men quite coldly and the first thing they advised them to lose weight.

However, obese patients, in turn, also did not feel confidence in the doctor, they less often followed his advice and were more negligent in their therapy. Extra pounds lead to problems in communication and, as a result, interfere with the normal treatment of diseases.

Fat people say that this applies not only to diseases that are directly related to overweight, such as hypertension or diabetes. Even when applying for a migraine or a cold, they hear, first of all, tips about losing weight.. This offends them, and therefore they are not treated.
