The clinical nutritionist from Israel Olga Raz has published an article on the principles of healthy nutrition in the summer period in the edition of Yediot Aharonot ("The Latest News"), stressing the need to keep in a hot time a normal diet, including at least three meals a day.

In hot weather (and now Israel has just covered an unbearable wave of heat), many people, especially the elderly, face a lack of appetite. However, in old age, missed meals due to heat and unwillingness to cook can have serious negative consequences for health. Elderly people are particularly sensitive to fluctuations in the diet and the amount of water consumed, especially if they do not train the body with regular hunger strikes or fasting. If you do not want to eat up in the heat, Olga Raz advises to eat small portions, adding more vegetables and fruits.
