The use of estrogen therapy promotes rapid bone healing around titanium dental implants.

Eighty-four days after ovariectomy, after diagnosing osteoporotic changes, titanium implants were implanted in the proximal metaphysis of the tibia. Then rats were prescribed estrogen therapy.
Samples of bones were examined 28 and 84 days after the implantation. In animals receiving estrogen therapy, the bone tissue state was much better in histomorphometry. Scientists came to the conclusion that their discovery can be successfully applied in dentistry when using titanium implants in patients in postmenopausal women.
