Scientists have conducted a study on rhesus monkeys. The brain of six-week-old rhesus monkeys is similar to the brain of children aged 6-12 months. The experimental animals were exposed to a common anesthetic. Researchers found that anesthesia adversely affected the visual memory of macaques. Experts emphasize that animals did not have diseases requiring surgery, and they did not experience stress due to illness. This suggests that memory impairment was caused precisely by anesthesia.
