Astrophotographer Osama Fati created a haunting image that combines two cosmic phenomena: the Perseid meteor shower and the spectacular dawn trails. The photograph, taken on the night of the 13th to 14th September in the Western Desert of Egypt, recorded the bursts of meteors on the circular trajectories of the stars that wrap around the celestial snow. This unique image allows you to watch out for the flow of stars and simultaneously enjoy the short bursts of meteors.
The magic of the dawning paths.
To create the effect of the bright nobles, Osama Fati used the technique of trival exposure. We took 240 consecutive photographs over a period of 25 seconds, which collectively recorded the visible flow of stars in the night sky. The skin trace shows how far the stars have moved during an hour of exposure, demonstrating the long-lasting light that has risen in price to the Earth over a thousand years. The photograph was taken with an additional Sony A7 III camera, a 16-35 mm lens with a length of 100 inches, which made it possible to capture detailed images of the night landscape and the dawn sky.
Zustrich with Perseids.
The Perseids are one of the most common meteor showers that occurs when the Earth passes through the tail of Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle. Meteors, often the size of a small fire, burn in the Earth's atmosphere, creating sparks that burn brightly. In the photograph the stench looks like permanent light smog. Around the Perseids, the photo also shows the dotted trajectories of the satellites passing in the sky.
The author combined the image of the landscape and the bright sky in order to create this stunning night view, which demonstrates the beauty of nature, the appearance of the Earth and the hostile view of the meteor shower.
