Sometimes the most advanced path can lead to cosmic heights. Jayden Carodin, a former NASA engineer, has served five tours of duty as a mechanic in the US Marine Corps, while in Japan, he must first know his affinity with the field of aerospace engineering.. Five careers in the Marine Corps, including service as a mechanic in Japan, became for him not just a “sudden turn”, but an hour for deep reflection. Then, far from home, we began to introduce the concept of “ikigai” - a Japanese concept that describes the nature of what you do well, what you love, what the world needs, and what you get paid for.. This became a reference point for him in search of an ideal profession.

He was inspired by this innovative idea, which prompted him to explore the field of aerospace engineering more deeply.. After service, he entered Embry-Riddle University, where he received a degree in aerospace engineering.. Today Jaden Carodin works with the Directorate of Systems Analysis and NASA Langley Concepts. His team is focused on the innovative field of service, assembly and manufacturing in space (ISAM - In-Space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing). This is directly what the creation and support of space infrastructure conveys, and not just disposable rocket launches.

A significant part of this summer’s work was included in the ordered “State of Play” document, which provides information about all ongoing projects in the ISAM office from various sectors – ordinary, academic and industrial. In addition, having developed an automated tool that will significantly speed up the process of collecting and analyzing information from space innovations, the time has come for the team to make future updates easier.
