SpaceX expects that by about September 2021, the Starlink satellite constellation will provide Internet access to the entire surface of the Earth..
This was announced by President and COO of SpaceX Gwynne Shotwell, ITC reports..
To date, the Starlink orbital constellation consists of approximately 1,800 vehicles, but not all have yet entered their working orbits.. As soon as the remaining devices take their places, they will all together provide uninterrupted global Internet coverage..
I must say that the timeline announced by Gwynne Shotwell is even ahead of the previous estimate of the head of SpaceX Elon Musk.. At the beginning of the year, he said that by the end of this year, SpaceX plans to cover most of the planet with Starlink Internet, in 2022 to expand the coverage completely to the entire Earth, and then move on to compacting the coverage in certain zones..
