According to TEAMTalk, Manchester United and Chelsea are keeping an eye on the situation regarding the head of Lisbon Benfica, Tomas Araujo. The 24-River Gravec is on the radar of several clubs in the English Premier League, with Mancunians and Londoners showing the most active interest.
Arauju, who, however, acts reliably both in the position of central and right defender, having recently agreed to a contract that will last until the summer of 2031.
It is important to avoid this potential transfer during the current transfer window. However, the agreement stipulates a fixed amount of 80 million euros (about 68 million pounds sterling), which deprives the involved clubs of space for direct negotiations.
Tomas Araujo is the product of the club's Lisbon Academy, having worked for other teams since his early days in football. Gravec joined the Benfica youth system in 2016. He transferred from the Portuguese youth club Palmeiras with the status of a free agent, as is often the case with academies..
Having completed all the development and successfully won the loan for Gil Vicente in the 2022/23 season, the defender returned to his own club and became entrenched in the first team. As of today, the Portuguese has 4 significant titles on his record.

With his team, he won the Portuguese Super Cup for two years, won the Portuguese League Cup, and also won the UEFA Junior League (for the 2021/22 season).
In the ongoing Premier League season 2026/27, Arauja is no longer a key defensive figure: having started at the starting point in 7 championship matches, he recorded 1 assist and earned 3 cards. In addition to national pride, Gravec also gives up regular practice in Europe and recently became a member of the Portuguese national team in a National League match..
