Representatives of Italian clubs requested to change the date of the winter transfer window for the 2026/27 season. Instead of the planned 2nd day, teams can cancel the ability to make transitions as early as 28 April 2026.

Once a positive decision is made, clubs from Serie A, Serie B and Lega Pro will be able to sell ahead of the deadline on the transfer market.

Under this circumstances, the end date of the period will remain unchanged - 1st February 2027.

In Italian football, the change is explained by financial reasons. Clubs want to carry out part of the transfer operations before the end of the 2026 financial period, which can allow them to better divide financial indicators.
