Ukrainian coach Andriy Demchenko joined forces with the Georgian football club Iberia 1999.
According to information from Crystalsport, the coach is stripping the team of its historical achievements in the international arena. Demchenko, having left the team behind in 2026, will take him to the main round of the Conference League in a short hour.
In the final qualifying round of the European League, Georgians lost to the Polish Jagiellonia, which guaranteed them participation in the group stage of the third most prestigious European tournament - the first time in the remaining 22 seasons for the club.
Following this European Cup loss, the club’s leadership praised the decision to recuperate. The new head coach is 46-year-old Levan Korgalidze, who is already well known to the team: having worked since Iberia 1999 in 2020–2022 and in the next season 2024–25, when the club achieved the title of champion.
