Athlete's striker Ignaki Williams announced the end of his participation in Ghani's national team.. The football player praised the decision after several fatalities at the national team's warehouse.
Williams made his debut for the Ghani team in the spring of 2022. He has played 28 matches for the Black Stars, scoring two goals.
Together with the national team, the forward took part in the 2024 African Cup of Nations, as well as two world championships - in 2022 and 2026.
At the 2026 Emergency, Ghana scored four points from Group L and qualified for the playoffs as ranked by the highest third teams. In the 1/16 finals, the Africans lost to Colombia with a score of 0:1 and completed their participation in the tournament.
Williams spoke specifically about his decision, praising Ghana for his fate at the warehouse of the national team.
" I walk happy, proud and extremely satisfied because right now, as I pull on this T-shirt, I give it all my strength. Ghana gave me so much more, not just football.
Vaughn allowed me to turn home, feel even closer to my roots and feel great pride in the fact that I represent my country and wear this ensign on my chest.
Such a big heart to everyone who was part of your journey, and for all the love you have always given me. Ghana will soon lose part of me. I will continue to encourage the Black Stars like one of you, no matter what,” Williams wrote on his page in X.
Veresna Ghana will compete in the selection for the 2027 African Cup of Nations. The team reached Group C, where their opponents will be Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia and Somalia.
