The English football club Wrexham has officially announced the transfer of 26-year goalkeeper Anthony Patterson from Sunderland. The amount for the transition will not be announced. Patterson has signed a contract for four years and could make his debut for the new team on Monday 17 September in the Championship match against Cardiff City.

Gravets himself does not bring his ambitions to the new stage of his career:.

" I’m on the way, what a past club, and now it’s even more fun to be part of it. I want to play in the Premier League with Wrexham, and I think everything is ready for the club to be built. I look forward to the opportunity to play in front of our fans and lead this football club to where it deserves to be."

The arrival of Patterson could completely change the situation with goalkeepers in Wrexham. This signing potentially opens the way to the release of Nigerian goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, who is currently on the remainder of his contract. Welshman Denny Ward also won the final race to please the club.

Patterson made his senior debut for Sunderland in the 2020/21 season.

In the 2024/25 season, the Championship played 45 matches and Sunderland earned a ticket to the Premier League, beating Sheffield United in the play-off final at Vembly.. In the 2025 season, he gave up his place in the main team to Robin Rowfs, having played only one match in the first half of the season.

The other half of the last campaign was spent on loan at Millwall, having played 16 matches in all tournaments. Zagalom Patterson played 169 matches at the Black Cats warehouse.
