According to Gerel, the club needed to find close to 10 million euros to pay off debts and guarantee funding for the coming season. However, the administration was unable to secure the required amount, through which DNCG confirmed the administrative demotion of the team.

An additional blow for Bordeaux was the completion of the project by the investment fund Sparta Capital, which was unable to collect the necessary funds.

At the same time, the club's leader, Gerard Lopez, is still hoping to find a new investor and intends to contact the National Olympic and Sports Committee of France in order to gain an hour to complete the agreement.

For one of the most successful clubs in the country, this became a tragic stage of the fall. Bordeaux is a six-time champion of France, but now there are concerns about continuing the struggle for survival in the professional national leagues.

Last season, Bordeaux played in the fourth division of the country, having settled in another place.
