FIFA and the huge profit of the French national team, Lassana Diarra, have reached the global court of justice, as they were faced with a number of fates that could seriously affect the entire transfer system of world football. RMC informs you about this.
The parties officially filed all legal proceedings related to the scandalous lawsuit of the ex-graver of Real Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal, PSG and Marseille. Diarra previously received 65 million euros in compensation from FIFA and the Belgian Football Federation.
The conflict started in 2014, if the Frenchman lost Lokomotiv Moscow through the salary shortening clause. The Russian club found the termination of the contract illegal and sought compensation from the player. Through this, the Belgian Charleroi yearly decided to sign the midfielder, fearing sanctions under the current FIFA rules.
At the end of 2024, the Court of Justice of the European Union stood on the side of Diarra and recognized the FIFA transfer norms as such that they comply with EU legislation and limit the freedom of transfer of professional football players. The decision became one of the most important legal precedents in modern football and prompted FIFA to revise its transfer regulations.
FIFA confirmed the completion of the super-test, but they said that they did not recognize the wrongdoing and did not pay compensation to the footballer. Diarra's representatives immediately hesitated to comment on the details of the homeownership.
