The Spanish national team reached the final of the World Championship 2026, repeating a rare historical achievement.

Luis de la Fuente's team became the fourth team in the history of the World Cup to achieve a great match, having conceded just one goal throughout this tournament.

The first such result was achieved by the Netherlands team at the World Championships in 1974. Then the “oranges” missed only a penalty in the group stage, but in the finals they lost to the tournament rulers - the team of Zakhadna Nimechchyna with a score of 1:2.

At the 2002 World Cup, Brazil achieved a similar achievement. “Pentakampeoni” allowed their opponents to score just one goal - in the match against Turecchini, and then they defeated Nimeccina in the final and became champions of the world.

Another butt was the Italian team at the World Championships 2006.

Squadra Azzurra conceded only one own goal during the entire tournament, after which they defeated France in a penalty shootout in the legendary final and won their fourth title.

Now Spain has been added to this prestigious list, as before the final of the Emergency Situation 2026 it lost only one goal. In the final match of the tournament, Luis de la Fuente's team will try not only to continue its solid performance in defense, but also to repeat the success of Brazil and Italy, which after such an achievement became champions of the world.
