Vorskla, which currently plays in the First League, published information that it was unable to obtain a certificate to participate in the PFL competitions for the 2026/2027 season due to serious financial problems and debts.
This information is contained in a statement on the official website of the Poltava club.
"
Unfortunately, due to the significant amount of debt obligations that arose and accumulated, starting in 2021, our club was unable to confirm financial criteria and obtain a certificate to participate in football competitions.
Despite everything, it remains possible to carry out restructuring measures for financial recovery, streamline processes and search for potential investors and sponsors with the possibility of obtaining a certificate to participate in PFL competitions for the 2027/2028 season.
Thanks to all fans, business representatives and the public for their support!
We believe in the best and that at least the Vorskla brand itself, the flagship of the Poltava region, will not disappear from the football map of Ukraine,” the statement said..
Let us remind you that the last time Vorskla played in the UPL was in the 2024/25 season, but lost to Kudrivka in transition matches and was demoted in class.
The Poltava team finished the current season in 14th position in the First League, which allows it to play in the play-offs.
Earlier it was reported that Vorskla announced a temporary suspension of activities.
