On Monday, May 18, it was officially announced that Andrea Maldera became the new coach of the Ukrainian national football team.

It is worth noting that the Italian is the first foreign specialist and the 19th coach in the history of the national team; this is also Maldera’s debut work as a head coach.

It is noted that the contract with the 54-year-old expert was signed for two years with the possibility of extension, reports the UAF press service.

Before taking charge of the Ukrainian national team, he worked as an assistant to Roberto De Zerbi in Brighton and Marseille, and was also part of the coaching staff of Andriy Shevchenko when he led the Ukrainian national team.

Let's remember that it was previously reported that Andrea Maldera secretly got engaged to an Italian TV presenter.
