FIFA President Gianni Infantino commented on criticism of the high prices for tickets for the World Cup 2026. ESPN reports this.

The FIFA official stated that the prices are justified and reflect the realities of the American market, where the sports industry has a very high level of commercialization.

According to Infantino, in the United States, the cost of organizing student sports matches can cost over 300 dollars, so the prices for world championship fights are not insignificant.

The FIFA President also commented on the situation with the resale of tickets. He said that low official prices would lessen stimulate resellers to sell passes at a much higher price.

“If someone puts up tickets for the final for resale for 2 million dollars, firstly, this does not mean that the tickets are worth 2 million dollars, and in another way, it does not mean that they are getting more,” he said.

World Championship 2026 will be held from 11th round to 19th round in three countries - Mexico, USA and Canada.
