The central manager of Real Madrid and the England national team, Jude Bellingham, commented on his decision to invest in the Birmingham Phoenix cricket franchise, adding a part to the club.
Apparently, the footballer contributed approximately 800 thousand pounds sterling for a 1% stake in the team, which became part of an investment group that is also associated with his former football club.
Bellingham himself recognized that the decision was obvious to him and connected with special emotions:.
“If I had the opportunity to succeed, I would not hesitate to become a part of this project even for the sake of it.”.
I love Birmingham. I'm so excited for everything that stinks have created for me. All Birmingham, half of it! They covered the entire West Midlands region.
I spend part of my football and cricket life there myself, but especially see Birmingham through the club for which I played.
For me, Birmingham City is the best team I have ever been through and the best club I have ever supported.. It was there that I learned the most from my life, both in football and in life,” Bellingham is quoted as saying by talkSPORT.
It is significant that the Englishman’s interest in cricket is not unique: he played for the youth team Hagley as a child, and also repeatedly reinforced his liking for this sport.
