Newcastle head coach Eddie Gau added his bags to the match of the 26th round of the Premier League, as his team beat Tottenham 2:1.
" The game turned out to be unexpected - I respect that we were not deserved for the same reason at that moment, if Tottenham scored against the logic of what was happening. It’s a great credit to the boys that the team didn’t fall apart, but reacted correctly, scored another goal and reliably defended itself from the end,” said Gau.
The coach, recognizing the strength of his athletes:.
" Physically very good. We controlled the first half in part.. I was so happy that Remzi scored, because I needed such recognition after the rest of my good performances."
After this match, Newcastle rose to 10th place in the Premier League standings. The team's next match is scheduled against Aston Valley in the English Cup - 14 February.
Apparently, after this match it became clear that Thomas Frank is no longer head coach of Tottenham. The club’s press service officially informed the club about this.
