Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi commented on his team’s victory in the MLS Cup final against Vancouver (3:1).
" We gradually grew, progressed and created things in the right way - and as a result we reached this championship. Thanks to my family and all the fans for their encouragement, to the entire team, staff and to the club for their ambitions and well-established work.
Thank you also to Busia and Jordi for those who came to this end and helped bring it to perfect completion. And I am absolutely delighted to share this moment with you,” Messi wrote on his Instagram..
It is significant that Messi has achieved this success by setting a record for the number of team trophies won, which is 48 in his career. The closest match is his great Barcelona partner Dani Alves - 45.
This season Messi played 42 matches, scoring 38 goals and providing 25 assists.
