The Belgians never got around to unsealing the Slovak gates.
Belgian national team striker Loi Openda commented on the incident where he touched Romelu Lukaku's goal after he touched his hand.
“I didn’t realize that I was hitting the ball, and only when I watched the replay on the big screen, I realized that my hand was hitting the ball. At this moment, I was in the middle of nowhere, making contact, and trying to stand on my feet..
That's it, I can't do anything with it. It is true that without changing the ball directly, it flies along the trajectory of my run. I'm the first to get on the balls. Just a little bit of decision. There was no such thing that I had swung the ball with my hand and made a hisser, I was already ahead of him.
“It’s football, we decided to praise the referees and VAR,” said Openda.
