Croatian national team player Luka Modric commented on the match against Spain (0:3) in the 1st round of the group stage of Euro 2024.
“This is not the result that we were insured for, but what is the same?. We have two more matches ahead of us, and we will need to compensate for this result.
The first half was wasted, we had no energy, we stood far away from our gates. And we were punished for this.
We also had our chances, but this was one of those matches where nothing worked out. We were painted in another half and were richly colored, but there was not enough of it.
In my opinion, Spain’s victory was well-deserved,” says Modric on the official UEFA website.
