Luciano Spalletti assessed the victory over Ecuador.
Head coach of the Italian national team Luciano Spalletti commented on his team’s victory in the friendly match against Ecuador (2:0).
“We had good chances in both halves, but we weren’t clear enough in the moments when we needed to pick up the ball – after which we wasted it immediately.
We showed team football and were deprived of the team for a long time in the match - this is a fundamental reason.
In the first half, we played the ball more and attacked more, which could have scored another goal, but we also gave Ecuador a lot of free space.
This is positive evidence, because these guys are great professionals. There were a lot of stops, rapid and steady trips, so we were able to eat it all, as we did between the federation and the team on the field, and it was a very good tour.
If people talk about the self-confidence of the Gravians, I would like to tell you that now all teams are on a high level, and we can all strive to achieve our results on the field. Football currently has nothing better to say.
We had a lot of speeches, we had a lot of speeches that we needed to learn, and we didn’t have a lot of time to work, but these games help us analyze, and then find out more positively,” - quote Spalletti Football-Italia.
Guess what, last match the Italian national team beat Venezuela (2:1).
