Shakhtar's official website reports that the 41-year-old Italian specialist has signed a two-season contract.
In the Donetsk club, De Dzerby replaced the Portuguese Luis Castro, who worked in Ukraine for two years.
This will be De Dzerby's first experience outside of Italy.. Previously, he headed Sassuolo, who under him progressed noticeably and fought for European cups, and before that the manager worked in Benevento, Palermo, Foggia and Darfo Boario.
Earlier it was reported that De Dzerby decided on the coaching staff that will help him at Shakhtar.
