Barcelona offered six million euros for midfielder Palmeiras Mateus Fernandez, reports Globo Esporte.

21-year-old midfielder joined Palmeiras a year ago from Botafogo for 3.5 million euros. Botafogo retains 25% of the economic rights to the player, which may complicate the deal - this club must agree to the transition.

Fernandez's contract with Palmeiras is valid until 2023. He played in only 12 matches for the club, and only six of them were from the first minutes. Barcelona is believed to be following him since 2017.
